  • Stay the hell away from this camera
I feel like a complete fool that I spent so much money on this crappy dslr. Should have never listened to my colleague…God!! Not only it is ugly ,but totally inefficient as well. Thanks to a million unnecessary features, I am more confused than ever and feel like I am giving a surprise maths test in school.
  • Double thumbs up
There could be nothing better that a budding photographer could ask for more than this particular DSLR. High resolution images, superb picture quality, innumerable effects…this camera has it all; you just name it. I am loving every bit of it and falling in love with photography; like that’s even possible :P. All in all, double thumbs up for this one.
  • Wanted a camera not a car
Am not sure Nikon was thinking about building a camera or a TV set. Chunky is not the word to describe it. it is massive. For a moment leave the design and the presentation is still bad. The gunmetal grey color is like a dull dashboard found on east European cars that sound like a tractor. This gives you an idea how bad it looks. Most people like me who are not Europeans and are quite normal the zoom lens needs a good 20 minutes to settle. I wonder who will the moment u want to capture wait for you to click? Yes a DSLR it is but the details are often missed. Control menu options are too few. I have seen the ones on Sony cams and though Sony cam bodies are very weak the tech specs are much, much better. My advice is gift it to a child or don't buy it.
  • Good performer
I asked many people before buying this Nikon and most said that this DSLR is good only if you want a basic camera. I find the Nikon D5300 more than a basic camera and I know what am talking about. I have worked as marketing manager for a digital firm where cameras were everywhere. The images are very crisp. Much better than what that useless Olympus series offer. The options are easy to choose. Not too many buttons makes sure that with a few touches you can personalize the settings. I personally like few buttons as today most gadgets come loaded with options that confuse me. I recommend to all those who are not photographing as a career thing. Other than that almost everybody can use this. With time you will get better and realize that how good the detailed colors and ISO features really are.
